BIOGRAPHY

The Law Office of Kristen Kelly is an established litigation practice handling family law issues throughout the Miami Valley Area. Kristen has dedicated her practice to helping struggling families through the emotionally charged legal area of family law. The family law area includes divorce, dissolution, domestic violence, custody, child support, shared parenting, spousal support and modifying divorce decrees.

Kristen Kelly has been a lawyer in Greene County since 1995. Growing up in Beavercreek, she is a 1985 graduate of Carroll High School and currently resides in the Miami Valley Area. She graduated from Wright State University in 1991, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. Kristen attended Capital Law School while working full time as a probation officer for Greene County. She graduated from law school in 1995 and continued on to earn a Masters in Tax Law in 1996.

Following law school, Kristen worked as a trial attorney for Western Ohio Legal Services where she represented indigent clients in all areas of poverty law. In August of 2000, Attorney Kelly was appointed as Magistrate in the Greene County Domestic Relations Court. She was responsible for hearing cases and making judicial decisions involving family law issues. She earned the title of chief Magistrate in 2002. After leaving the judicial bench in 2006 she returned to trial work with the firm of Brown, Rowland and Kelly handling only family law cases.

Ms. Kelly is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association as well as the Greene County Bar association. In 2006, she served as President of the Greene County Bar Asociation and in former years has served as Treasurer, Secretary and Vice-President. She is currently an adjunct professor with Capital University.s paralegal program teaching Research and Family Law courses. Kristen is a member of the Domestic Violence Coalition and continuously increases her knowledge of the domestic violence law through seminars and continuing legal education courses. Attorney Kelly handles cases through the Attorney General.s Office under the Ohio Victim.s of Crime Program. She is also a member of the Humane Society of the United States and helped in establishing the new laws pertaining to cruelty to animals. She also actively fosters horses for the second wind adoption program and dogs for Dachshund Rescue of North America. She is licensed as a foster parent in the state of Ohio and is active in her children.s extra-curricular activities.
